New York

An amazing, life changing trip. Not so much the big city lights, but the dim, comfortable warmth of great company. I miss you Reldon, June, Qin Xu and Wei Yi! I will never be the same.

Let me first introduce you to the group:

Reldon: My adorable fun-loving cousin, studying in Eugene, Oregon.

June: French-speaking coffee enthusiast, cultured chef. Studying in Queensland, Australia.

Qin Xu: Master navigator and overall planner, Economics student in Manchester university, England.

Wei Yi: Abstract humourist, doing accountancy in Queensland Australia.

Friends from all over the world! It was such a joy to meet up and catch up and explore a new city together (:

Day 1

Surviving 20hr flight to JFK airport

Checked in to our luxurious apartment at Battery Park. We rented an Italian family's home (:

Look of the day!

Explored uptown Manhattan by foot- beautiful architecture but dirty streets.

We must have went to 7 different Starbucks outlets! Special Christmas drinks like Creme Brulee and Gingerbread Lattes. I vote that it should be made available in Singapore!

The coffee connoisseurs.

Headed to Little Italy for a hearty Michelin lunch!

After Lunch, went to Times Square to see what the fuss was about.

DIZZYING LIGHTS! Big billboards and dizzying lights. Fun...but headache!

Went home, whipped up a healthy dinner from the groceries we bought at WholeFoods.

Life lesson learnt:

US$1.99 cotton gloves from convenience stores can be 3 times warmer than the S$$$$ leather gloves from fashion stores!

If you have to resort to doing this, ie, warming your gloves using coffee, you know you are pretty pathetic. Comfort over fashion ANY DAY!
